Hello, I'm a preopt student and I was wondering if some people who are currently in optometry school could post their daily schedule for the entire week. Give class times, lab times, etc. And please say what school you are currently attending. I'm mainly interested in UHCO, but I would like to see posts from other schools as well.

I'll be attending UHCO this fall. Our schedule for the 1st year is pretty simple. We have three 1-hr long lectures M-F from 9-12, lunch from 12-1, then labs vary. There are four lab groups (ABCD). For example, my lab schedule is:

Mon & Tues: 1-4
Wed: (not sure, one class is still TBA, maybe it's 1-4 also)
Thurs: 1-4 then 4-7 (yikes, 2 in a row)
Fri: NO LAB! Yay!

Everyone has one long day with 2 labs in a row (which I've heard doesn't actually go the whole time every week, kind of like undergrad; those instructors want to go home too!) and a day without a lab.. and luckily my short day is Friday this semester. Every semester the lab times change for each group, and you stay with your group of 25-27 students every year.

Is there a cafeteria or somewheres to eat inside of the eye institute or do we have to go elsewhere?

As far as lunch goes, there are fast food joints across the street at the Welcome Center, so that's convenient. I'm not sure what most people do. I think there are quite a few restaurants around campus. There's a cafeteria in the school where you can keep your lunch in a fridge and microwave anything you need to. Will know a lot more once my hibernation stage is over and I get back to school!
