I came in America about 3 years ago with NO knowledge of English and started as junior in high school. I couldn't take any science courses in high school because I had to take care of graduation requirements. So I took Biology 1, Chemistry 1, English and Precalc in first year of college.
English B-
Precalc A-
Chemistry 1 B+
Biology D-
My advisor told me that 99% of student taking biology have high school experience in Biology. So my overall GPA in first semester 2.527. The reason for that is my mom was very sick and I had to stay with her in the hospital almost everyday because she doesn't speak English. I am the first one to goto college in my family and first generation in America. So in second semester I took these classes: Chemistry 2, Art Appreciation, Calculus 1 and English 110.
Chemistry 2 C
Calculus1 B
Art Appreciation A-
English 110 A
So overall GPA for second semester is 3.140. And Cumulative GPA 2.833.
So right now I am taking these courses
Organic Chemistry (I am doing really good in it)
Biology 1 (had A in first exam)
Calculus 2 (right now i have 90 overall)
Physics 1 (very easy and had 100 in first exam)
Geography (102 in first exam)
I am currently participating in two clubs. Premed society and Indoor soccer team. I am also going to research next semester. I work part time (20 hrs) in TJ Maxx and volunteering in hospital very very soon.
I really don't know how medical schools in America. My parents don't speak English and I learned to speak English after I got to USA.
What do you guys think I should do for future. Any advice will be awesome.
Thank you very much

Sounds like you're on the right track. Get that GPA up and try some hospital volunteering to see what medicine is all about.

Good to see improvement. From here on out just work really hard and try to get all A's. Also, as the above poster said, try volunteering, get some research done, and also do shadowing.
