Quick Run Through
- Took my first two years at the community college
- about to graduate at the University

Since my grades are less than stellar, i'm planning on retaking non-science classes that i got a C in back at the community college during the summer. I'm still planning to take my prereq at the university. Should this be a problem?

Some of the classes might overlap when i'm taking classes at the university. Do i have to alert either schools of the other? I'm not taking these classes for credit to transfer. I'm just trying to bring up my gpa.

Any advice will help. 🙂

you should read the rules of taking classes outside of your school. I go to a CUNY school and you need to apply for a "permit" to take courses within the system.

It should not be a problem with adcoms. I bounced around 3 CC's and 5 universities because I kept moving. had some retakes at CC's as well. Never came up in interviews.

Not to dissuade you, but you might not need to retake the class if it's just one or two C's. Spending the additional time to focus on doing well on your prereqs might be more worthwhile. But I guess it would really depend on how you feel about your GPA. Would you be able to do overlapping courses at two different schools at the same time?
