What do you have to bring to BOLC?

Do we travel in uniform if we have it?

I think you bring uniforms if you and your recruiter can acquire them locally, a personal computer, and some toiletries. A few sets of civilian clothes would be nice as well. The BOLC site has a packing list.

My understanding is you DO NOT arrive in your ACU if you have it. We haven't been through the proper care and wear instructions and we'll look like complete newbs. It is my understanding though that we may leave BOLC in them.

Most questions regarding pay, travel and items to bring can be found through your MODS.

I read through some of the topics there, I still don't really know how travel works. Do I just call that Wagonlit guy? I have my orders if that matters. I just want to make sure I don't have to pay for anything.
 
Carlson. You can find the number in MODS. Let me know if you can't locate it. Check out the discussion forum tab in MODS if you get some free time, it'll give you a lot of general info.

You'll have to call and let them known when and where you want to fly out and when you want to come back. Nothing to pay, just forward them a copy of your orders. They'll send you your itinerary via email.

Ok cool. How early are people usually suggested to fly in? My orders just say no later than 2400 on July 1. Does that mean I can get there on June 30, or is the no later than specifically referring to the 2400 part, in that I should get there anytime on July 1?
 
You can get there anytime as long as you make it for check in.
I'll be flying that morning of. You can get there whenever but your hotel will be out of pocket.

Alright sweet, I called Carlson and made travel arrangements. So when I arrive at the airport in San Antonio and I don't have a car with me, how the heck do I get to wherever it is I have to go, and where in the heck exactly am I going for that matter? Ha, I am so in the dark here.

Is there a shuttle of some sort that can take us from the airport to Building 592, 2350 Dickman Road, Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234, or are we on our own for transportation? I might be walking... did that for one of my interviews, ha.
 
it'll be better for the july class.. I'm the only dental student here so im 🙁

idk how I'm the only one who made it in for the first class

**do not wear your ACU here..but in your suitcase have your IPFU on top bc you will be putting that on immediately upon arrival (height/weight check)
 
Question on the packing list. I received my orders today and will not be able to get uniforms before going there. I was going to order them on the exchange however they said shipping probably wouldn't get it there in time. Was there anyone down there for your course who had to buy their stuff down there? I know you need your IPFU for processing and I don't want to be the only one out of place. Would I have time to get all this stuff before processing?
