Hey there,

For those of you doing Cardiology/Echo fellowships - I've started reading some echoes but it's not what I expected.

What are the things that you like about reading echocardiograms? Is it the physicis, the diagnosis, or something else?

Thanks!

I am starting to like it more and more because it's so easy and quick, just like when you start to master ECG's. I don't care about the physics at all because it's so boring. I wish I can read and eval my own echos so I dont have to wait for the cardiologist's report before sending a patient home.

Echo is physiology in motion on the computer screen so if you enjoy basic science, understanding of mechanisms governing hemodynamics then you will enjoy echo. Tremendous diagnostic modality although you can make it simple by sticking to basics and get your answers right away.
