For someone starting their residency in EM as far a pocket or electronic quick reference....thanks🙂

Bejeweled is a great start....

If you want to look like you're doing SERIOUS things on your PDA, Epocrates is great (and free), as well as 5 Minute Emergency Consult. There are some people who swear by PepID, although it's quite costly.

Get PEPID - it's pretty much the only medical thing on my palm except for the programs from handhelddoc.com (shameless plug for the site one of our residents just put together).

Oh, and don't make the mistake of getting internet access and email on your treo... now i procrastinate just as much during grand rounds as i do at home on the computer.

Yeah, but the absolute LIFE SAVER on off-service rotations 🙂

Pepid. It isnt THAT expensive, either. You have a concise text crosslinked to your drug database. Pretty quick, you wont need to look it up.

I found out that you can pretty much get PEPID for free if you commit to uninstall and reinstall every 15 days.

Pepid is the bomb but I only paid for it for 1 year, then it wasn't worth it. Like I said you can do it for free but it is a pain in the butt.
