A lotus birth is where the mother gives birth at home and the placenta stays attached to the baby until it comes away naturally (can take anything up to 2 weeks)

We got another pre-med here guys someone call the amber lamps.

Delayed clamping of the umbilical cord has shown some benefit in reducing the risk of iron deficiency in a newborn. Lotus births, on the other hand, are a little excessive. Don't animals chew the cord off and eat the placenta? I'd argue that's even more natural.

Luckily, you can have your placenta encapsulated! http://www.phillymag.com/be-well-philly/2013/09/05/why-ate-placenta/

I'm going to design a baby carrier attachment for the lotus birth placenta and make a mint. I'll call it the Chorion Carry-on and it'll be compatible with all the most popular brands - Ergo, BabyBjorn, K'tan, etc.

Agree with the disgusting concept, but that name is ****ing brilliant. That's some MBA-grade quality. Strong work.

NO!!! Modern medicine, obstetricians, pediatricians, vaccines = healthy kids = educated parenting.

No thanks, I'd rather have an all natural, organic birth at home with a midwife and then sue Johns Hopkins for millions when things go wrong because they couldn't accommodate me last minute.
