I know people have debated 'House' (which I personally think is hilarious because I love dark comedy... and he probably could be a real doctor if he's the best at his job) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (which I personally have never watched) and 'ER'...

But what about 'Scrubs' it at least focuses on the intern/residency stage which is different. I personally love it. What do you all think?

Or you can even rank the medical shows.

for me:
Scrubs
House
ER

Scrubs is great. One beef I have with it though is that the earlier seasons had significantly better episodes than the latter. It just seems that more recently, the jokes and gags seem too contrived, not fluid like in the earlier days. Then again, this happens with every show as they mature, although there's still some extremely good episodes now here or there. Also, isn't Scrubs the most accurate depiction (or as accurate as a sitcom TV show can be) of all the doctor shows out there? In my most humble opinion, Scrubs takes the cake for them all. I try to wat ER, House, Grey's Anatomy, etc but can't stomach too much of them on a single serving.

Whoa It's Peter, Scrubs is definatly the most realistic. Bill Lawerence keeps "the real JD" as a medical advisor, all the patient illnesses are ones the real JD has run into, and they try to keep the jargon and treatments correct (with the exception of Elliot's IV "twitch.")

Scrubs is funny & the dialogue is pretty dead on to real life. 👍

Grey's Anatomy is more liek Desperate Houswives than medicine. 👎

ER used to be good, but is increasingly unrealistic. 😕

House is an embarrasment to the profession. 👎 👎

I saw an interview with Zack Braff and he said they basically weren't sure if/when this new season's episodes would air (remember there was sort of a hiatus for the show), so he took that time to make some self-described "zany" and weird episodes (the ones that are currently airing in the new season). They basically decided to make them as weird and bizarre as they felt like, within reason.

Scrubs is by far the most realistic, it portrays the whole hospital and interrelationships extremely well. Its a great show.

House-they made us (ms4's) watch this last week, while hes funny, show is way off base, they made the residents chase down some dog, lol.

GA/ER-drama queen shows, with terrible reality factor. Consultant for GA is probably a nurse.

That one must be a popular incorporate-school-and-tv episode; we watched it in my bioethics class last semester too!

What do you mean by that?

What's with all the ER hating. ER is the **** (until season 6). Way more true to medicine than scrubs. Scrubs is funny, there's just not much medicine in it.

Usually these medical based show has some sort of medical consultant....like a real doctor(s) that give them these medically based stories and try to keep it as accurate to real medicine as possible.

I agree that the consultant for GA is probably a nurse.

Scrubs is so damn funny....i love that show. I def agree that the earlier ones were better..

Its medically very inaccurately portrayed, especially in a organizational/procedural matter. It looks as if its someone who is outside looking in based on the mistakes, like how someone in a nurses position might view how the hospital works.

I disagree, maybe your hospital is like that. Thats what life is really like when your out there, not oohing and ahhing over every miniscule path that walks through the door. Much more just a part of the day like it is in scrubs, plus they do all the little things right, stereotypes in medicine, etc.....

Wow, that is what I thought you meant. Since when do nurses not know how a hospital works?

Your taking it too personally. The show appears to have an outsiders point of view or opinion. It was not a slam on nurses.

The point is the hospital is going to look different based on your perspective. The janitor is going to write a totally different feel to it, this one doesnt appear to have a drs. input, or at least not taken over drama.

How many neurosx's do you know that do appys, and where do CT surgeons assist a neurosx. Where on earth is a PGY-2 a god? Do you know of a residency program that has the residents switch services everyday? How come all the residents have time to be off to watch a surgery at the same time. Since when do gen surg residents do OBGYN cases?

The show is rife with errors that would be very easy to make if you were just on the outside of the situation.
