I just took my MCAT and received a 21, I am very disappointed in this score so I plan on retaking it late August. I have completed my application but I have not submitted it.
I have a 3.6 core gpa and a 3.49 science gpa.
I also have great shadowing experience and extracurriculars.

What do you think I should do? Should I send in my application after the results come in around late September or send it now and indicate that I plan on retaking the exam?

Please help! I'm so lost and discouraged right now.

I would send it. Study very hard b/c I'm not sure how you're going to hit a 26+ after hitting only a 21. Five points is hard to jump up to.

Be sure not to take it before you're certain that you're ready. Two bad scores = way worse than one.

Most likely put on hold pending a better MCAT.

Based on what?

Wouldn't it follow that most people with terrible MCAT's are then put on hold, rather than outright rejected? This clearly isn't the case... Why would OP be put on hold and not rejected?

Not trying to be argumentative, I literally have no idea and am just curious, bc I may be in a similiar situation when I get my MCAT score back next week..
