So I work at Converse as a sales associate. I got along well with my manager (who was on leave but soon left late last summer because he had two sons he adopted). I enjoy working there because I am exposed to a whole diversity of people and I get to help/educate others with my knowledge and love of sneakers. Moreover, my manager has seen many of my customer service skills and works along with my positive reviews from customers.

Would asking a sales associate manager for a LOR be an appropriate thing to do when it comes to applying for dental school? (I'm doing a committee letter and wondered if this LOR can fit in too).

I don't love sneakers enough to work at Converse.

On a serious note, dental schools specific who to get your LORs from. You can always sent it after sending in the required ones first.

You can only submit the committee letter with one other letter. That would usually be a dentist letter, preferably the one you shadowed.

I think it'll be better if its part of a committee letter. I guess committee letters vary in each school, but I was allowed to ask 5 (i think even 6) people. I asked 2 science professors, 1 non-science, 1 dentist and then since I could put 5 I asked my boss because I felt she knew me really well. It was a well rounded committee letter. so if you have that option, then definitely do it. Just make sure you tell them way beforehand because the whole thing is sent when all the letters are received by the advisor.
