My baby brother is a professor of journalism and when I got mad when a well known and much loved doctor was in the papers for something very stupid (DUI on the ocean.) I called him up to tell him that the article was slanted and to call his friends at the paper and make them stop. He said that the media exists to get clicks on ads and stories and sell ad copy, not to convey information. He told me that the best thing I could do was to not click on stories bearing any suggestion of that story.
So. . . when I read the paper on line I click on stories I like. I only touch newsprint to buy it to line the rabbit kitting box.
