What do you think you will get in your classes?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Turn that frown upside down!

first-year seminar: a (haaaaaaaaaaate that class)
chem: b or b+ (won't know till finals)
bio: a!
french: who cares, but an a or an a-. my instructor's a poncy git

We don't have a+.

I really should have studied more but there wasn't really a point. 😳

I'm rather certain that I will be getting a "B" in English, but that is quite an accomplishment in that class. It means that the prof only despises me for being a student, but thinks that my actual work is good.

I expect the grades in the other five classes and the two labs to be exactly what I earn. We only have about two weeks of classes left to go. Then it's a month of freedom!

I'm thinking all A's... I hope so, at least, gotta up my GPA.

I'm only taking 2 classes this semester. I can only take 1 or 2 because it's all I can afford and I'm working full time.

OChem 1 - I'm hoping for an A, which I think I will get, since my professor is reputably very fair with grades and curves. I think he likes me, too, so that's good.

Physiology - A, easy. Basically, the entire grade is based on attendance (I haven't missed a single class) and the 4 tests. We've had 2 so far, and I've gotten 108 and 112. The professor credits everyone with questions that the majority of the class got wrong. If you got them wrong, they don't count against you. If you got them right, they're extra credit.

Intro to unveristy-S (yes, satisfactory. no letter grade, talk about a waste of money)
Math for liberal arts-B+ (if I don't get an A, which I deserve, i'm going to the dean)
Physics 103-A
Physics lab-A
English- A
Music 111-A

math troubles me. I EARNED an A, but the teacher dosn't like me..😡

if all goes well...3.95 or 4.0 (depends on my biochem lab practical which i hear is incredibly hard...)

if things don't go well, then...

but my gpa will drop unless i get a 4.0. so...thats what i'm hoping for

I have no clue. I currently have A-/A+ averages based on assignments in 4 out of 5 of my classes, but I just wrote a bunch of midterms that have yet to be graded. In my 5th class, I haven't submitted anything yet (it's basically a short paper, a long paper, and a final exam in the end of December). If I HAD to speculate, I'd say:
Microbiology: A, maybe A+
Organic Chemistry: A+
Environmental Chemistry: A-
A&P: A, maybe A- - but it's a year-long course.
Biomedical Ethics - no clue, I have no grades for this one at all yet

First year... so it's all easy:

Calc: A (if I do decent on the final, otherwise A-_
Psych: A
Chem: A
Philo: I got an A on the first of three exams, so Im hoping to do good on the others
Physics: A

i wish i could say A's..this semester killed me..pre calc 1 and 2 (6 credits) B+ hopefully if not a B..physics a B i think, unless a miracle happens, and english 2 an A..how do u get A's in all hard subjects? do you not have jobs and have more time to study?

Man, you guys are depressing me! From missing the past 3 weeks for interivews and everything, I did really poorly when I had 4 tests in a day... my straight A's just went to 3 B's and hopefully 2 A's (we don't do +/-)
with B's in ecology, neuroscience, and virology and the A's in stats and ecology lab :scared:

Grr.. Ill probably lose my 4.0 gpa this semester after 31hours of coursework..😡😡👎

OrgChem............B
OrgChem Lab.......A
Calculus I...........A
MacroEconomics..A
Public Speaking...A

Human Anatomy...A
Human Anatomy Lab...A
Genetics...A
Genetics Lab...A
Calculus I...A
Christian Faith and Values...A (stupid core class)

4.0 after 80-or so hours...let's hope it holds up, because at the moment I have an 88 in Human Anatomy. <says a prayer>

I know how you feel.. sometimes I just want to end the 4.0 and not have to sweat blood and tears to maintain it.. At the same time.. I know Im capable of getting it, so its tough to not try. Hope you keep your gpa!

All A's as of now, but we'll see after tomorrows onslaught of exams...

I'm guessing All A's though.

These threads annoy me. Not because everyone is doing better than me, but because it freaks those out that are already freaking over the process. Why is everything a size contest? You get good grades, you have a 4.0, congratulations. People have done it before.

Bio - A
Bio lab- A
Chem- B (maybe A depending on the final not a big chance though)
Chem lab- A
English B (I have a 88 so maybe an A depending on the final and the final essay)
Math B I wish I could being this up.

Because the real world doesn't really get it?

Because that whole thing about how it's more important how you use your GPA was all a lie... It just comes down to size in the end. :d

Physics: A
Archaeology: B
AnP: A
Microbio: B, hopefully B+ (currently a C)

been a rough quarter for me. made the mistake of focusing too much on the hard classes at the expense of archy. Oh and i should have gone to micro.

Human Anatomy: A
Human Anatomy lab: A
Evolution: A
Biotechnology: A
Medical Ethics: A
and they're all ~95's yay🙂 my most interesting semester of classes!

O-Chem- D
O-Chem Lab F
Bio- D-
Accounting - A
Microecomics - A

Looks like i know what i am going to do for the rest of my life

Hahahah kidding, but i think my O-Chem lecture and Bio class will end up B's unless i pull high test scores in O-chem (very doable, just lazy) and if Bio sets a massive curve where a 88% becomes an A.

Physics- A
Physics Lab- A
Human Communications- A
Organic Chemistry 2- A or B (I am entering the last 2 exams with an 89.9 and an upward trend)
Organic Chemistry Lab-A

As hard as I am legitimately trying to NOT get a 4.0, unfortunately I might get one. This past week, I went and saw American Gangster instead of studying for a psych test, played Mortal Kombat II for 4 hours instead of stuying for physiology and still came away w/A's. Its really funny how the world works.

Don't you hate that?

You try and try not to, and all you get are A's??

Soooo annoying.

😛

Quant - A or A+
Ecology and Evolution - B
Plant and Animal phys - A or B+

LOL what school do you guys go to? Brooklyn Kommunity Kollege?........making earning an A this easy should be a felony. And don't pull that I'm smart enough that I can slack off and get an A bullcrap. These schools are clearly not working pre-med students hard enough. I attend a school were you work your ass off not to get a D.

Oh I'm studying for the classes that count-PChem, Immunology, etc, but the ones that I really dont care about (Animal Phys, Developmental Psych) seem just to be going my way. Maybe its the fact that Im a senior and have learned the system/how to read/study, etc...

And CLEARLY we're not working hard enough, as I used my rudimentary skills to get a 33 with minimial studying. Go back to working your ass off to not get a D. Spare me.

You obviously don't understand! When you've studied soooo HARD to earn and maintain a 4.0 it can make you a ridiculous wreck.

I completely relate with ONYX4000GT because you start to freak out every time that you take a quiz/test and turn-in a homework assignment. I find myself praying every time that I enter my lecture halls...so that I don't sneeze and mess it all up! On the other hand, I kinda wish that it would get messed up so that I could relax a bit.

One of Penn State's commonwealth campuses at the moment. (Hooray for standardization. Not.)

But I want to transfer to Hopkins.

this is a typical thread spawned by those neurotic premeds that noone can stand. What is the point? and how does this apply to the med school app process? I could care less what you all are getting in your FALL 08 classes. The apps are in, and whether you get a A or a A- really doesnt matter at this point.

Amen! It's actually Fall 07 btw, not that it really matters.

Then don't read the thread. We're just screwing around.
