I sat for the OAT on Saturday, here are my scores.

Quantitative Reasoning 370
Reading Comp 340
Biology 370
General Chemistry 340
Organic Chemistry 360
Physics 370
Total Science 370
Academic Average 360

I have graduated with a 3.3 GPA with a B.S. in Management Information Systems in 2006. I now work for one of the leading Software Health Care companies in the country. I have been taking night classes at the local community colleges for the past year and a half with a GPA of 4.0. How much will the schools care that my science classes are all from a 3 differenent community colleges? Also, I will not be taking Organic Chem II, Bio Chemistry or Human Physiology. For the school that I have applied to these are only Recommended. How strict are they on asking you to take these courses?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

you are totally screwed.

if it's "recommended" (not even highly?), then obviously they're not going to require you to take it. sometimes students with borderline scores are asked to take more upper div classes to show they're academically competent. but wow! you have a 4.0 in pre-reqs and a 370/360 you'll be fine 🙂

Your OAT scores are awesome! The classes that you're not taking probably won't cause you any trouble... and if that is the only thing that the schools want from you, they will just tell you to take them before starting. Although, since they're only recommended courses it probably won't even come to that (as the person above said).

The only thing that might be an issue (which there isn't a whole lot you can do at this point) is the community college thing. The schools prefer you taking your pre-reqs at an accredited four-year university. But obviously, you have a non-traditional background, and the fact that you aced those courses is a great thing. IMHO, you're definitely a competitive candidate. Good luck!
