So I have decent GPA (3.8) and good MCAT (40) - my problem is that I don't have a science rec - I got some good extracurricular/research ones and then a sports med prof to write me one - will this severely impact my chances at top schools? My ecs are all solid but nothing outstanding. What do you guys think about my chances at top 10 as well as places like Chicago and Baylor?

Not a single science? Get one even if it is lukewarm
Is ur research in the sciences? That may help you out.

You have to know one science professor to write a letter for you.
It would raise a flag to me. You are extremely smart but may not have the soical skills to be a doctor.
Hell, I have professors asking to write me letters. Ask one for an office meeting and tell them your plight. My state school requires two LORs from them or a committee letter.

The teachers at your school want you to succeed. Make an appointment with a few old science profs, bringing your CV, Primary AMCAS application printout, and photo. Chat them up for 30 minutes so they get to "know you" then ask if they could write you a strong LOR. This is a common problem in schools where there are 300 folks in the lecture hall and the teacher never gets to know you. If all else fails, get a lab TA to write a letter and get the prof to co-sign it.

Get those 2 letters no matter what you have to do. At this point that's the only thing holding your application back.
