I m very late in the application process.

I submited my primary a few days ago. But this morning I received an email from GW telling me that they are sending me a secondary. I thought this was odd bc I just submited amcas like 2 days ago and it hasnt even been completed.

Do schools every just blindly send out secondaries (to anyone regardless of stats) or does it mean that you preliminarily met their range of cut offs?

Anyone know anything about GW?

When you submit AMCAS sends just your name and email to all the schools you applied to. Some schools send out secondaries just based on that.

GW sends them out to everyone, as do a lot of schools and some don't wait for verification.

If you have an MSAR it says which schools screen for secondaries and which send them out to everyone. Its good information to have since in the middle of your secondaries its starting to get really expensive and you can start weeding out based on schools that blindly send to everyone and schools that screened and chose you.

This is way OT, but I just wanted to say that it's nice to see another late submitter! Good luck!

Just curious, in other threads you indicated that you are already in med school. So why are you still applying this cycle?

I know they put a crapload of us, including myself, on hold this past weekend.

I m in a SMP at RFU. I m not in med school, just taking the med load (with the exception of anatomy).

I m ok with being on hold, i was actually hoping to be put on hold, so that I can show them my 1st and 2nd quarter grades in my masters program.

Can you request to be put on hold for situations like this?

When they see you're in a grad program (esp one like yours) they will prob put you on hold whether or not they want to.

Are most secondaries done online? Can you perfer to do them by regular mail?
