What does accepting financial package mean

I have been accepted to a college and I am waitlisted on couple of colleges .
The college I am accepted to has sent me the financial package and now I have to accept it or reject it.

My question is if I accept the financial package what will happen If I get offer from one of the colleges where I am waitlisted. I am really interested in the colleges I am waitlisted.

Appreciate if somebody could explain what is the meaning of accepting a financial package

Are you talking about the FAFSA awards and the gigantic check the federal government is about to drop into your account? Yeah don't accept that unless you're pretty ****ing sure you're going to that school...

I actually have no idea. I was waitlisted somewhere but as soon as I got an acceptance I jumped on it all the way to the bank. Every college probably has a financial aid department to answer these questions. Did you pay a deposit at the place you're accepted to? They probably assume you're going there or they wouldn't offer the award. I didn't get an award notification for at least a couple of months after I got the accept.
