What does "Bland" mean?

I know it is kinda silly to ask this question... I often hear people describe cells as "bland" when the cells look ok ( my understand only ), what exact does this word mean when people say that about a bounch of cells?:rolleyes: Thanks.

My understanding is that the nuclei don't appear malignant (don't have atypical mitoses, aren't hyperchromatic, arent bizarrre-looking).
 
bland just means benign-looking. Unexciting. Uninteresting. Vanilla. So-so.

Yep. I most often hear myself saying this when looking at cytology.
