So many speak very highly of Destroyer. I even have it myself and love it. Considering the large amount of questions, what do you think destroyer lacks? Do you think it has enough embryology and taxonomy covered to nail those asked on the DAT. I did'nt do as well as I would have liked on BIO. I mainly used Destroyer and Cliffs.

Bio is quite random. Obviously, considering how broad biology is, reading one or two books wouldn't provide you with all the info, and that's simply the nature of the beats. I think destroyer is great for Chem and Bio. The only section of destroyer that I didn't like was math, and that's because their math questions are way easier than the real thing. Other than that I think it's a great resource to have and use.

I too have heard the Math in Destroyer pales in comparison to the actual DAT. Do you have any suggestions as to good resources for the math section?

Destroyer is a great book overall, I think what it lacks is timing on the computer, but you can always time yourself every 30 questions. For the math, there's a new math destroyer.

Some people say crack dat math is more representative of the real test, but then they complain that the solutions are very confusing.

I thought the old destroyer lacked enough spectroscopy problems, but the new destroyer I just picked up has some new ones, so that's not really a flaw anymore. They've also just released a Math Destroyer, which is significantly better than the old math section of the dat destroyer.

Really, I don't have any complaints. Bio's incomplete, but Bio's *always* incomplete, it's just the nature of the topic. Beyond that, I think Destroyer has everything covered - at least as of the new edition.

The reason why they don't have that many spectroscopy questions compared to other topics is that you rarely see a spectroscopy question on the real DAT.

In the new math destroyer there's section exams, and thorough answers in the back. What I meant was for the sciences, you would just time yourself that way. The new destroyer does have a lot more NMR questions compared to the old one. And for the computer experience, you can practice using a computer program.

Would you guys rec. math destroyer for more practice or are they much easier than the real thing and wouldnt be representative.

As I'm going through the O chem section of destroyer it seems to be lacking questions about physical properties of compounds/functional groups. I have the 2007 version though. It's great for learning reactions though!

That's a fair response, but Destroyer is for the perfectionist aiming to get high 20s or a 30 as much as it's for the guy trying to hit 19. For the former group rare questions are still something you want to be good and ready for - which is why I'm glad that the new version has beefed up spec. I'm really happy with the new destroyer. That plus a handful of your basic textbooks and Cliff's or Barron's AP Bio, and you're good to go for the DAT.
