I applied to a lot of schools, but only heard from 12 so far. For the rest, I have been complete for over 2 months. Now if I don't do anything (b/c i'm not taking any more classes or not retaking mcat), do you guys think I would still have a chance of getting interviews? I'm keeping myself busy with all the things that premeds would do (volunteering etc) and I know there is always a letter of interest and all that; but I wonder how important they are in getting interviews, since the discrete components of your application (gpa and mcat) are still the same.

Most of these schools probably already reviewed my application at least once (unless they are backed up by two months) and for whatever reasons, they decided not to interview now. But what are they are waiting for - b/c by this time, most of the premeds have already applied. I guess I just gotta keep waiting.

I have been complete at 6 schools since June/July/mid August. Nothing. You are not alone is all I can say.

you've heard from 12? That's a lot.

I heard that schools that are highly interested in you get back to you the soonest (within 1 month), and then as time goes on, they get around to inviting people that are less desirable but still good enough to fill interview slots. So I believe you'll still hear from schools down the line.

like i said, i applied to a lot of schools. i've have been fortunate to have one acceptance though.

but buffalo was the quickest one to response back:

In: 9/17
Out: 9/17
Interview invite: 10/4
Interview: 10/31
Wait-list: 11/2

The way I see it, you already have an acceptance; so you have far less to worry about than those who are still waiting for interviews.

Just sit back and relish on the fact that in four years, you will be a doctor; if you get more responses, great, but if not, you are still in better shape than many others. If you are very concerned, then e-mail schools inquiring about your status (or call). I have been waiting to hear word on schools in which I have been complete since September as well.
