What does it mean when you get a letter from a pharmacy school that you applied to and they say that they want to wait until they see your Fall grades before further evaluation of your file.Is this really really bad or is it ok??? Im freaking out but at least its not a Denial!!! The letter was from Mercer by the way. They also want me to submit another pcat score but I knew that was coming b/c i bombed it the first time. luckily I took it on the 22nd.

What is ur GPA? Mercer sent me a letter saying "Send them another PCAT score" they did not mention anything about waiting for my Fall Grade

well according to pharmcas it is 3.17 but I retook a class an earned an A in it so I dont know if they offer academic forgiveness or not. I am in the process of taking organic I right now and I thought they may be waiting to see how well I do in that class.

I got a letter from Mercer a while ago saying that they wanted to see grades from Organic I and II as well. They didn't say anything about PCAT but I assumed they wanted to wait for that too, since I had never taken it before (till the 22nd). I haven't gotten an interview either. So I guess we are in the same boat. 🙂

By the way, what exactly is "academic forgiveness"? I thought it just meant forgiveness of bad grades.

WHAT, are u lying starsweet, because if they want to see ur Organic II grade, u will finish it off in the Spring 2006, by that time the class is already filled up..but anyway how come they do not mention anything to me about seeing my Organic I or II grade? cuz i M taking organic I right now in Fall 2005 and II in the SPring 2006

Alright, calm down.... I just looked at it again, it said they want to see my PCAT before reviewing my app and that I still need Organic I and II with labs. Sorry if that was misleading!

Anyway, I'm sure a large portion of applicants will be finishing Organic Chem 2 this spring.
Don't worry megrxgirl... I'm sure it just means they don't want to deny you. They probably think you look good so far but want to see a little more of you academically before they can determine if you are competitive. Just try to keep up those organic grades and hopefully your PCAT score is pretty good. I definitely think it's a positive... it just means, we're not ready to decide on an interview yet. A LOT of people are in your shoes at this point, I'm sure!

I thought academic forgiveness was when you retake a class and they only consider the highest grade. But I dont know.

The letter said I have completed all my pre-pharmacy reuqirements. Also i had no intentions of retaking the pcat, what do yall think about that. Is it bad to not retake the pcat just for them, because i got into another school, and i really really do not want to take it again and with such short notice. However mercer is at the top my wish list.

Yes, I've got the same letter, when I opened it, I thought it would be an invitation but low and behold it was this...I need Org I/II and also a PCAT, which I will be taking TOMORROW MORNING....I will call and see what is going on with this!

I appologize for not postin sooner- I read this post about a week ago or whenever it began and just didn't have time to post.

I received the same type of letter last year from Mercer. I was happy as well, because it wasn't a "denial". I think it's just a way for them to let you know they are working on your file and don't feel like there is enough solid information (grades, PCAT) to make a decision on an interview for you.

I got that letter in the fall and was invited for an interview in February or March? I don't remember exactly. I was not accepted to Mercer though. Keep your hopes up 😳) Things work out for the best! (I love where I am now 🙂 Good luck guys!
