You're automatically entered for one/some when you get in. Merit-based. GPA and DAT scores. From the impression they gave us at the interview though, your chances of getting one are slim at best.
My husband had a merit scholarship when he attended NYUCD and from what he says, there weren't that many (I think about 5-10 per class), but they do have a lot of need-based scholarships which are for those who can prove that they are financially needy and independent. You should talk to the financial aid department for more info on that.
I had an interview today at NYU. The student who gave us the tour was a D3 and received a merit based scholarship. He told us that its not just based on GPA and DAT scores. His GPA was around 3.2 or something but did receive 24's across the board on his DAT. He also failed biochem and physics the first time he took them. I got the impression that he thought his extracurricular stuff was what convinced them to give it to him. He also said he didn't receive any interviews at any of his state (CA) schools. So I guess its tough to say what might get you a scholarship.
i believe a canadian student recieved a 100% four year scholarship from nyu two years a back. i dont know what his gpa and credentials were like, but he had a 27 on the pat, and that's supposed to be a national record.
