Hey guys,

I'm just curious about what the DEA makes you fill out/go through to actually write prescriptions for patients. Not like I'm Dr. Nick trying to pick up chicks by telling them I'll be able to write scripts, more wondering if past troubles will hinder me. Do they check your employment history? Credit? Arrests probably, but I'm wondering about the whole package. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

$390 dollars (can fill out the form online at the DEA website-very easy-never have had $390 taken from me so easily), a state practitioner's license and a state controlled substance license.

So you're basically saying they're in it for the $$. Sweet. Thanks for the reply!

And as long as you don't so anything stupid (i.e get convicted of a felony, get caught for writing bogus Rx's, loose your dental license, etc), all you need to do to keep your DEA # is either write the Feds a check or just charge the renewal fee to your credit card (it was $210 when I got mine initially and for the 1st renewal and the $390 the last time I renewed), and you got your # 👍
