GOP: Grand old party, stands for republican party
MSTP: Medical scientists training program, md/phd program
rolling: first come, first serve
EDP: Apply to one school early, they tell you by Oct. 15
Bump: bring a thread to the top by posting in it

1) GOP - Grand Old Party
2) MSTP - Medical Scientist Training Program
3) rolling admissions refers to filling spots with qualified applicants as applications are processed instead of waiting until all apps are in to begin filling spots
4) Nancy is so kind of director of "super-specialist" who will make sure your app is verified if you threaten her with a lawsuit. 😀 😀 😀
5)EDP, c'mon. we all know now what this means. Think back to when you were applying to college...
6)bump is just a conventional way of moving a post to the first page of the forum so it will be immediately viewable by everyone

MSTP=medical scientist training program. IT is an NIH funded MD-PHD program
Nancy=saint (to some)

MSTP = Medical Scientist Training Program = NIH funded MD/PhD

Rolling Admissions are where a school accepts applicants as they find them, not all at once at the end of the cycle.

Nancy is the director (?) of AMCAS, and she has been very helpful in getting some people's (including myself) apps processed.

BUMP = to bump a topic up to the top of the list. If a topic is sliding down, and you want it to go to the top so people will see it without actually adding anything new then just add a new reply and 'bump' it up.

Hope that's all pretty clear.

Adam

While Nancy can be helpful in expediting AMCAS applications, as the director of AMCAS, she is also the person responsible for creating the AMCAS debacle in the first place. I also hold Jordan Cohen, president of AAMC, responsible for his organization's gross ineptitude and flagrant disregard for applicants.

I finally got my application verified, but as you can tell, like a lot of applicants, I'm still bitter about the whole experience. 😡

The whole point of calling it the Early Decision Program is that you make your decision early about which school you want to go to. You can only apply EDP to one school.

How do they find out? Besides the fact that all of the schools that have EDP use AMCAS (at least they did this year), there's the fact that AMCAS won't let you apply EDP to more than one.
