I know this is a very basic question, but what type of procedures or other physical things are rads. residents generally required to do?

Thanks!

I read studies with an eye patch. It strengthens the other eye so that I can pick up finer detail. I saw a glomerulus on a renal ultrasound just the other day. I usually switch every other week though, you know, so that one eye doesn't become too strong and overpower the other one.

Ok, that is like SOO like yesterday!

Radiology may be viewed as a procedural specialty. There are a wide range of procedures which are performed under imaging guidance in most modalities. They include biopsies; inserting central lines/PICCs; cancer ablative techniques such as radiofrequency ablation; angioplasty (aside from coronary), cerebral aneurysm coiling and angiograms. In some cases these may be slightly physically demmanding, particularly as lead gowns are often worn during the procedure. During residency you will be expected to perform some of these procedures, however once you have finished you may control your work to avoid procedures if you so desire.
