I'm an MS2, and I am starting to think about residency applications. I realized that I have no idea what the process looks like or what is even on the application. Can someone give me the 101 on what a residency application consists of?
Tip: Have a google doc or word doc. Use it to list all your experiences, research, and dates associated. Do this as you go, and then your ERAS application gets a little easier b/c you don't have to stare at your computer trying to remember all of life and its associated dates.
ERAS is basically the commonapp for residency. Just like you used AMCAS for med school. It's your demographics, your experiences w/ their dates and descriptions. Then your LORs. Then your PS. That is rly it...
You should start building you CV now, not just for residency applications, but future jobs. It should include education, research, committees, community service, etc. Only include undergrad activities when pertinent. No one cares you were fraternity social chair.
