What does this application requirement for residency mean?

Hi all,

I am currently preparing to apply for endo residencies. I came across this requirement on aae.org that states "Must the license be from the state where the sponsoring institution is located?"(the answer is Yes for this particular school). I am not sure what this means? Is this a nicer way of saying they are not looking for out of state students? Is there a way one can apply for licensure on a state other than the one they are graduating from at the time of graduation? Also, most students like me apply for residencies during summer between third and fourth year so how does this affect them?

Please advise.

What did the residency say when you contacted them?

I think it means you must be eligible to apply for that state's license. You should be fine if you take the WREB or ADEX in your 4th year.

I will be taking CRDTS and the state accepts CRDTS so does that mean I will be eligible to apply for dental license in that state? Thanks for reaching out.
