So I've interviewed but currently am NOT on a waitlist for a school
Then I received this email about my current status-

"Thank you for your continued interested. You are still an active candidate and we will give you full consideration should a position become available. We have already sent out wait list notifications to others who interviewed. As I said, you will be given serious consideration."

What does this mean...?! If and when I'm "seriously considered", will I then be placed on a waitlist? or accepted???

aaahhhh the waiting is so frustrating......🙁

You are still a candidate. Their wait list is already full.

If a spot opens up on that wait list, you will be put on it.

Maybe I'm an optimist, but I read it as if a spot opens up, you'll be accepted. I kind of interpret it that way b/c it says you're an "active" candidate and why would waitlist have a limit?

Also, why don't you just give them a call?

Why don't you call the school and ask them what the h does this mean? Cause Im curious myself, it doesn't sound like your on the wait list, yet, you are being given "serious considerations"

arggghhh so frustrating when schools don't get back to you...!!
i finally called and got a hold of someone...they said that all apps are considered (both the waitlist AND this other "group under consideration") and are reviewed again.....way to be vague...AGAIN... 🙁

Someone pointed out to me that if the waitlist is really small, they don't want to reject people and then find that they don't have enough people to fill the class. And I've heard of people finally receiving rejection letters in August. I think the school just is trying to save themselves from crossing too many people off the list. Does that make sense? I know someone who received a similar notification from UCLA and was finally accepted after the first week of classes had already begun. I also know someone who received a similar notification from Temple and did not get in. It really depends on how many already accepted and deposited students give up their seats.

they were very vague...they just said that all apps will be fully reconsidered after they've sorted out their second deposits...this includes ppl like me and also ppl that are already on the wait list.
so basically I'm still "under consideration"...boo🙁

WOW! Congratulations. Which school was this? It seems they have created a list above waitlist (Superwaitlist? 🙂).
