It means they may be able to offer you an interview.

I think its a good e-mail. If not mitaken, everyone who got this version of the e-mail got interviews. I received this one, and then a day later received the actual interview. Just be patient and good luck.

Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. Please continue to check this site to learn when further action has been taken.

So you may or may not receive an interview. Seeing how it is still early in the process, you're chances of receiving one are good. 🙂

I would think that they'd give out much more acceptances to make sure that they have 184 class or do a lot of people end up on waitlist and get in?

That's a good question... one that I do not have the answer too. I would pressume that quite a few ppl get accepted off of the waitlist. Just my guess...

When I was interviewing someone asked if the 300 acceptances includes people getting in off the waitlist. It does.
