After finishing medical school, what are some common careers that MD's go into that dont require getting a residency? Public health, international health, hospital administration, what else? Also, if yall know the average salary for some of these jobs that would be nice.

All I know is that a physician has some of the best job security in the world and I wouldn't dare use it for any thing else unless I was guranteed to make several million.

One pharm rep told me that pharm companies like reps with MDs and they also can make 6 figure salaries.

I work in clinical research now, and all the MDs from the pharm. companies are board certified in their specialty. Hard to get any respect when selling a product or research protocol when you are not BC. Why not finish a residency?

I think most doctor's make in the 6 figure range anyways.

They do but he wanted to know what else can be done with the MD so I provided one option with a comparable salary for many medical fields.

If they hire Pharm reps who have no MD, why can't they hire an MD who is not board certified since many pharm reps are not board certified in any thing.

but why get your MD then? Just go directly to pharm rep.
