I was looking at the different residencies for DOs and i saw these two and didnt know what they were.
Neuromusculoskeletal med + 1
Neuromusculoskeletal med/omt

I tried to find what these two things do and to no avail. anyone know and care to enlighten me?

I believe those are like a fellowship in omm/omt post graduation before your residency. Mostly for the diehard manipulation guru's

Thats exactly right....they are in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. A +1 year is an additional year (sort of like a fellowship) that you can do after several residencies (though I would imagine its mostly after primary care)

Actually, JPHazelton is doing a pre-doctoral fellowship (PDF), not a +1 program.

PDFs help teach OMM to 1st and 2nd year medical students and is completed during your 3rd and 4th years of medical school. (see http://www.hsc.unt.edu/departments/omm/fellows.htm). One can also complete a masters degree in education during this time if one so chooses (at least at TCOM you can.. don't know about the other schools)

a +1 program is done after residency - usually after family medicine, but it can be after other programs. (see http://www.hsc.unt.edu/departments/omm/residency.htm)

no, the internship is an internship, the +1 program is to qualify for board certification in neuromuscular medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine (NMM/OMM).
