Hi,
I'll be attending PCOM-GA in the fall and seeing as how this is a new school and it will be tougher to get residencies, I was wondering what happens if you don't match? I have no idea- do you get another chance? Do you list the top 15 places you want to go to and maybe you'll get something that's not your top 3? Does match mean your mark 3 and they mark 3?
Another question, do residencies have to be done at university hospitals? I want to go into FM, can I do a residency in a hospital that is not associated with any university at all?
Thanks for any input!

If you don't match then you get your documents together and fax them to all the still open residencies in a process known as the "Scramble." Even after the scramble there are plenty of open positions in FP and IM.

WOO HOO the scramble!!!!!

I don't envy anyone having to go through that hell.....
