I was pretty excited to start school again after having stayed at home for practically a year due to health issues. Summer I semester, I took biology lecture and biology lab I and an online English class. In the beginning, everything went great, and I was pretty confident that I would pass all my classes with no problem. Well, turns out I started missing practically all my lab classes–due to unexpected health issues–and I could not find my instructor's contact info anywhere. The instructor listed on my schedule was a complete different one, so it was very confusing. My advisor was finally able to determine who my lab instructor was and by that time, I'd already missed 2 out of 4 exams. I explained my situation to him, but unfortunately, there was no way for me to re-take the missed exams. I took the last two exams, which weren't enough to pass the class.

My question is as follows: what happens if I passed the biology lecture class, but not the lab? When I registered for summer I term, I also registered for summer II; I am scheduled to take biology lecture and lab II this coming up semester. Will I be able to take these classes after failing the lab I?

Where they two separate classes? With two separate grades? You should be fine for taking bio lecture and probably the lab too. Call your school and ask.

Two separate classes and two different grades, yes. I will definitely make the call
