What happens on May 15?

Let's say you've been accepted to several schools, but on May 15 you decide you're attending School X. Now let's say you're also on a waitlist at a couple other schools. On May 15, do you have to withdraw from the waitlists, or can you wait and see if you get into School Y off the waitlist, then withdraw from School X?

On May 15th you can only hold 1 acceptance. You can however stay on any waitlists you have been on. If you clear a waitlist you are able to withdraw from the other school.

I've had friends that move up schools in their personal ranks after May 15th. They'll cancell all but 1 acceptance. Then when the get in off the wait-list they take the new acceptance and cancel the old one. They keep doing this until they get in off the wait-list at their favorite school (if they get into a favorite school)
