Some of my prompts are asking this question and I am wondering if I should come right out and admit that I was trying to apply to school earlier. I actually filled out my AMCAS application for 2015. About a week before my MCAT, I was in a car accident and withdrew my application for that cycle. It took months of physical therapy before I was able to even think about studying again. I got pretty down about it and was actually so depressed last year that I didn't even try. I probably wouldn't mention it since I have no other MCAT recorded but my course load and work activities also took a nose-dive while I was going through PT. They will definitely notice something was up. I'm not really sure how I should try to explain this.

I'm no expert, so take my opinion lightly. One question though, since you're applying now are you doing things right now before you enter med school next summer? You still have a year to make things up.

I would mention it if asked and I'm sure they would 100% understand. You could even write about it for the challenge prompt. Just showcase how you grew from the accident and how much you've learned from it.
