Louisville - good school, nice weather and location

Indiana - don't like PBL
Case - Cleveland's not the best, expensive school
Boston - my last name isn't Gates, Buffet, Walton, etc
Pittsburgh - don't know that much about

What does that exactly mean?

I am interested in good Faculty, Facility and Fair tuition.

More than 25% dental school facilities are really old.......To get good facility, go to new schools. To find good faculty, facility and fair tuition........its hard my friend. May be Arizona, Nova, UNLV..

Vishal,

Which school would you pick of the list I posted above?

are these schools you interviewed at mo?

ohcdn

Only Case. Good school in a so-so neighborhood (Cleveland), excellent sim-lab, but other pre-clinical facilites are old. Friendly faculty, Tuition is high, total cost reaches in the 40's.

Vishal,

Why those schools?

Louisville / Indiana are pretty much mid-western, relaxed atmosphere, quality of education is good, not too expensive.

I would not like to live in Cleavland....Case is out.
Neighborhood is not so good.

I think BU is too expensive for the quality of education they offer.
Thats my opinion. Also, BU as a school, I found them too
arrogant. They try to charge as much as Harvard or MIT
just because they are located in Boston. My undergrad experience was not so good.

Pittsburgh...I do not have much information, and somehow
I have an impression that its not located in good neighborhood.

In my opinion, yes!. The school is located in a very old neighborhood. Especially, the city of Cleveland down-town... looks spooky.

You gotta get out more Mo.

I didnt say Case is a bad school. If you have been there you'd know what I am talking about.

I have been there. Not a bad area.

Case is a great school - with a great faculty, and amazing sim-labs and opportunities for students . also, the 70 person class size is big plus as well. the area where case is isn't so bad. shaker heights is actaully quite nice. often, people who get in but don't attend do so because of tuition (which is 58G's by the way...not 40), or because the weather isn't favorable (usually to people from west coast).

BU is really expensive (over 70G's), but the location is great - Boston is a really great place to be, and the patient pool is enormous! over a 2 month wait-list to get in as a new patient. The faculty seemed really cool, and the students were happy. their apex and aegd programs were impressive as well. class size of about 110...not too bad.

the other schools i know nothing about.

im partial to Boston...so I would go to BU, but if all goes well I will be at Tufts next fall😎

You have to remember that your earning potential once you graduate will allow you to pay off your student debt without too many headaches. So if you are accepted to a school that costs alot, and have no other choice, then I say you should take it. You will have to pay off some debt, but you will be in a profession that will allow you to do so.

nah.. I was at case. not bad at all especially if you're single. Cleveland height area was very nice just 2 miles or less from school. I drove around and found several areas within 10 miles radius from the school. They were so nice, quiet and beautiful. All trees turn yellow this season. I don't think I can stand the cold then...😱 😱

I would have to disagree with the first sentence, and yes I live here so I know. Its not bad, agreed, but with an undergrad female:male population of around 35:65 and Cleveland not exactly being known as a mecca of good looking people im not sure where that is coming from.

Overall around the university is nice. However, step off a couple blocks in the wrong direction and your in some real shady sh!!, I never had any problems though. And Cle Hts, and Shaker are pretty nice, but expensive.

Cleveland in general is ok, pretty run down, but making improvements. The flats are dead, but downtown (West 6th etc.) is upscale/trendy and has really picked up in the last few years.
