What if you're a regular applicant and not an early decision--- when do we start getting notifications of interviews? I know this is based on when the app is submitted and individual school deadlines for the app, but could someone give me a time frame when most regular applicants start hearing something? thanks
😛

hey drumming, if other people grill you about this being a repost and that you should always always do a search before posting ANYTHING or forever hold your peace, just ignore them.

Your not very bright are you....

HEY TTTTWWWEEEETTIIIEEE!!!!! Get Him!

Welcome to SDN, drumming207! 🙂 When was your AMCAS app processed/verified? Are all your secondaries and LOR's in? You can't get an interview invite until your file is complete. Then each school will differ in how long it takes them to review your app and issue an invitation to interview. So it's hard to answer your question without knowing the answer to these questions and which schools you applied to. But assuming you did everything really early, and your application is a strong one, then you should start getting invites fairly soon. It's early in the process. SDNers tend to be real go-getters, so don't let the number of interviews posted here already discourage you. Best of luck with your apps!! 😀 🙂 😀

drumming,
it really depends on when you submitted your application. if you're an excellent applicant and submitted amcas in june and secondaries in july/august, you could get interviews now. i think it's more common to start hearing in november or so. applicants from last year can probably give you a better idea. i'm an august mcater so don't expect to hear until late november/early december.

LOL.....
just line em troll up like crows on a clothes-line 😀

drumming, little tip. If you put what the thread is about in the thread title, more people will read it.

yeah... still kicking. but soon you'll be kicked off.

i think the time slows down between secondary to interview the farther you get into the process, but i might be wrong. say for example, some of us got GW interviews within a couple days of getting our file completion notices. i think the turnaround from receipt of all materials to the actual evaluation of your app slows down considerably as the adcoms start getting all the august on filers of amcas, and the august mcaters start submitting. i'm speculating. but you're stilll fine if you apply now, dont mind us crazies 😛

Your'e definitely right on this, DW. There definitely is an advantage to early apps, but it's not all-important (given that you don't come down to the wire and wait until deadlines to apply. Then you'll definitely be interviewing -- if you get one -- for a place on the waitlist). If your application is strong, then there's a possibility of being invited soon after your file is complete, especially from the schools that don't get the huge numbers of apps. Schools with huge numbers, like BU and GW, tend to be very slow.

hey it's not your loss, and it's certainly not mine. i happened to come across this page while searching for medical school interview feedback. not knowing the "ten commendaments" of SND, I did the unthinkable. yes, i posted a new thread w/o searching. *gasp*
i honestly did not see the "rejection list" thread on the same page. yea i don't know how i didn't see it, so sue me. i saw it after i posted the thread, and i was actually just about to edit or delete the damn thread when some chap by the name of smv or swv or vw came and disrespected me and my intelligence. if my repost wasted anybody's time (which i'm assuming it did), i apologize. if my repost created so much havoc that it negatively affected your goal of becoming a physician, i apologize. but do not make unjustified presumptions about me based on one lousy god forsaken thread.

TROLLY!!! TROLL TROLL!!!

i figured that was what happened, but there was no need to get vulgar. why don't you just delete your threads and start over? most people on this board will be happy to help you. we did come down hard on you, and i'm sorry for that. there is a lot of valuable information on this site, and some bad info as well, so it would probably be in your best interest to check it every once in a while. good luck!

The moral high ground here is amusing. ok, so we hopped on you because what, you made redundant threads, a little out of line of my part but its been frustrating a lot of people recently. So, this warrants vulagarity and homophobic slander? not cool in the slightest. i didn't start jabbing at YOU specifically until you started throwing some unnecessary insults at street philosopher and myself.
