What information should a thank you letter include for an interviewer?

Basically the title, folks.

How long should these letters be and what information should they include?

How would sending a thank you letter come off as looking like a tool?
 
Most thank you letters contain a sentence of thanks, some near-vapid comments about how the student loved the school, and a closing which usually consists of something along the lines of "hope to see you in the fall" or "hope to continue my training there."

Don't overthink it. You don't need to write a novel. A few sentences is more than enough.
