Does anyone have any idea of what ranges of COMLEX scores affords acceptance potential to what kinds of programs? I can understand what the averages/means/SDs mean, but, what is the actual implication of these scores--two digit or three digit--don't matter. i.e., Passing=what programs, average= what programs, above average= what programs????!!!?!? Thanks!

I spent a few hours researching this, and found that there is very little information. However I did find a few numbers.

all of johns hopkins anaethesiology applicants had >600 on step 1.

most programs weight the 2 digit scores evenly, saying that USMLE or COMLEX be > 80 or other such number.

Sorry I don't have more info, but 600 really seems to be the "cutoff" to the highly competative specialties. I did find one school update that touted 14 students having greater than 600 on step 1 for whatever year it was. so that seems to support that hypothesis.

Hope it helps.
