Is there a good percentage to shoot for or anything??? I was just wondering because I've heard back from 11 of the schools I applied to, and I would like to know what a good ratio of interviews:secondaries would be.

edit: I haven't been given an interview at 11 schools. Just heard back. Wanted to make that clear lol.

not sure but I'm at 1 acceptance from 6 II's, 9 rejections, 10 havent heard from soo:

4% acceptance, 24% II's, 36% rejections, %40 nothing

idk if this is "good" or not, but i'll take it 😀

well obviously that "1" is all that matters 😛, so congrats.

edit: oooh and the school you got into was Case Western. How long after your interview did you hear back? I interviewed there on 10/19.

No, there isn't a good percentage to shoot for.

Yeah, exactly. This is a little ridiculous. The "right" number of schools to apply to is the number that gets you accepted. Also, without any information about your application this discussion is futile. A strong applicant might expect to get acceptances to a third or more of the schools he interviews at. A weak applicant might expect less. There is no magic number.

1:1.

🙄

In all seriousness....it doesn't really matter, and if you look through MDApps, for example, you'll see applicants with all kinds of ratios. All you need is one acceptance, even if that comes from a single II.

This is true. I have seen people estimate it here at 9:3:1 for a good applicant; however, that is really just a number thrown out there. For me, it was 4:2:1. It all depends upon your app.

I'm going on 4 for 4 from the schools I've heard back from but I really honestly think that it's a coin toss a lot of the time.

If you have 11 interviews you are fine. That's a good percentage to shoot for - I bet there are thousands of applicants that wish they could get 10% that number.
