4th year students go through an application process known as the Match (nrmp.org).

It works almost exactly like sorority rush if you know about that. If not, read the website - you need to know about it anyway.

A "match list" is nothing more than the publication of where a medical school's graduating class will be going for residency and what specialties they have chosen.
