What is considered applying late

I have a 3.1 and am taking ym DAT next week thursday. I was hoping to have my applications out by the end of July. Is that considered late? I thought it was early but I saw in another thread someone saying late applications already?

i don't think it's that late... you should at least start the app process and get your transcripts/LORs in right now. they have all my stuff and i will be submitting tonight or tomorrow... will just have to wait for them to verify my gpa and receive my dat scores from last week.

As the cycle progresses, it kind of depends on the candidate. You pull a 28AA 30TS like ol' pdog, then there really isn't a late.

As of today, I don't think it's considered late yet for anyone really. What is it now? Three batches?

dont wait to send out your app just because youre waiting on the dat. (i didnt know you could do that last year.) once your dat is done, itll automatically get sent to the schools and get added on to the rest of your app. you wanna submit ASAP cuz itll still take about 2 weeks for aadsas to verify your gpa, pushing you a few batches further from "early"

Early is essentially right now, and after this/next week a transition begins from early to not early to getting to be delayed. Schools are starting to receive applications and invites have been dispersed by some schools to 1st batch applicants with 2nd batch invites on the way soon. Additionally, as time continues on here, the sheer volume of applications through AADSAS is probably going to increase which could further delay your verification and mailing.

keep in mind itll still take about 2 weeks to get your gpa verified once u esubmit even if u are a reapplicant. so if you want it out by the end of july you need to be thinkin about submitting by friday i would say. i think the end of july would still be chill. but i do know that a bunch of invites start rolling out in august and u dont wanna miss that opportunity.

And all your talking about is filling out the entire aadsas form right

Don't worry. You will still be early. It doesn't really become late until around September/October.

yup, fill everything out, get your LORs etc and esubmit. once you esubmit, itll still be about 2 weeks until your gpa is verified. and depending on how early in the week its verified will dictate if it will go out that friday (if its verified on a friday afternoon, it prob wont go out til the next friday--pushing you back another week). so definitely try and esubmit asap! 🙂

I submitted my LOR's to my advisors already. Is that what you mean?
Sorry, I hate application processes 🙁 I doubt I can have it in by friday, my DAT being next week thursday thats all im really looking at.

kinda....you wanna make sure you remind them about deadlines as well. cuz i know professors can be super busy and forgetful. thats also another factor u wanna consider. them lagging on sending out your LORs can also delay the process.

and no worries!!! i dont think anyone enjoys this. (especially me...this is my 2nd time applying lol.) i know what u mean its hard to worry about other things when theres important things standing in your way. if u absolutely cant focus on the app until after your dat, try n get it done by the day after. at that point youre lookin at a mailing date in the middle of aug.

Sounds good, and all my letters are in already. I did that by the end of last semester.
I just called my advisor, if I want a committee letter, it takes up to a month after my interview. I didnt even get the interview yet...

Also, when you say verify GPA, you mean just hand in the AADSAS form to the registrar?

you need to hand in the aadsas form to the registrar, and make sure they get it sent out asap. after aadsas gets your transcripts, theyll be waiting on u to e-submit to then verify those transcripts.
