What is "diversity in marital status"?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sounds like legalese promising applicants they don't care if you are single or not

So like if you were a recently married young applicant, they wouldn't ever deny you admission because they thought you'd have kids in the next few years that would interfere with your schooling

They aren't going to discriminate against you because you are married or because you are not married. "legally protected status" is the dead give away. They don't care about diversity in things that they aren't required to care about like cigarette smoking or body weight or waist to hip ratio. 😉
