We got this rejection the other day when billing a compound. We had to put in the level of effort into the DUR field. A few questions:

1. What does "PPS" stand for? Professional Pharmacy Services?

2. What do you put in the other DUR fields (conflict, intervention, outcome fields)?

Thanks!

3. Are the "level of effort" times standardized accross the board? I.E. Level of effort 11 is always less than 5 minutes of time? etc.

It depends on the total amount of time to bill, process, and make compound. Magic mouthwashes should be about 5 minutes, but if are making capsules, for instance, the level of effort would be higher

For a compound?

It's to let the Medicaid SWAT teams know how much effort will be required to kick down the pharmacy doors.
