What is grand rounds?

I'm a MSII and I keep seeing postings about grand rounds. Can someone tell me what that is?

Grand rounds typically aren't "rounds" at all, but rather a departmental lecture. These are usually where the big-name folks will speak, like if you have a fancy-pants visiting professor or something.
