A person with dementia tries to cover up their inability to answer a question by laughing at the end of their answer to your question. If I remember correctly, it is a long, German word possibly starting with an 'S'. Thanks in advance.

Witzelsucht is more of a generally inappropriate gregariousness than just laughing at the end of a sentence - but it's also the closest answer I could think of too.
