I had a deferred grade for the first part of a two part class. The first part wasn't graded, but you got credit for it. You got the grade in the second part of the class. So, on my AMCAS, it says "deferred grade" for that first part.... Does that help at all?

It means AMCAS didn't count that grade toward your GPA calculation because they couldn't verify it. I doubt it'll reflect negatively. Why didn't your home institution include the grades?

study abroad was too easy to factor into my school's gpa.

So you just got credit for it?

It happens. I only got credit and no grades at my US undergrad institution for a study abroad program I did through a foreign university. So, my US undergrad transcript shows the foreign classes and credit, but no grades. Never asked them why. However, AMCAS didn't mark them as deferred. It just shows my credits, and no grades or deferred status. *shrug*
