Once AMCAS, inputs all my grades, the grade chart is going to look like this (See attachment)...
Could someone please tell me what my GPA is.... ?
There are so many GPA's in that table ??
Notice: My HS, FYR and Sophomore years are from a foreign school, so no GPA can be calculated ..

Oh by the way .. after looking at those stats .. can anyone tell me what my chances are ??? (International Student Status) 😀

I believe that you'd be interested in the CUG(cumulative undergrad) value.

And as to whether how good the value is depends on where you are applying.

Well, what is really important is your CUG and your science GPA (called BMCP, I think? or something like that).

Since you are an International Student, your chances are unfortunately slim to start with... See the thread I just opened about International Students... Welcome to hell! 🙁

Plus, your GPA is kinda low. So, things don't look too good. If I were you, I would wait to get my greencard (I should have done that and will probably have to do it in the end) and then apply. That's gonna increase your chances because you will be able to apply to more schools, especially to state schools, which usually have lower stats.

In the meantime (since the greencard process takes for ever), you should maybe consider doing a post-bac program to boost your GPA, or take a few advanced bio classes and get good grades. I didn't have that problem, so I'm not sure what's the best thing to do... And, of course, you need to study for the MCAT and ace it. Aim 30+. I got a 28 and will probably have to re-take it... 😡

Hope this helps a little. Good luck! :luck:

Thanks for the input... I did do the post-bacc though and did it pretty well.. (At least thats what I thought before I came to SDN 🙂 ).. I ended up with a 3.6+ GPA for the two post-bacc years (it is on that attachment too)

So.. I guess with that having said.. What should I shoot for in the MCAT ???
