I'm just finishing putting together my OptomCAS application and am entering in my transcript information. When it asks whether the course entered is "required for your major", do the 'generals' requirements count?

In other words, I have taken three types of courses.
1: Courses specific to my major
2: Generals courses everyone at the university has to take
3: Generals courses I chose out of a list of options (i.e. 'Music' for the 'Arts' credit)

2 and 3 are not specific to my major, but they are required for a diploma. Do they also both count as being "required for your major"?

I do not think it particularly matters about general courses. I counted electives as "not required" and everything else as required. Maybe you could call the schools?

I was wondering the same thing today as I was filing in my coursework section in OptomCAS. I emailed them today so i'm waiting to hear back. I put almost everything as required for major but i'm not sure if the general electives like history, sociology, etc are "required".

I wondered the same exact thing and so I called Janelle at Pacific and Jane at SCCO. Here's what Janelle said, she said to only mark yes if it was required if it is an upper-division course. Not an elective or a lower division pre-req.

Jane on the other hand said we could put any pre-req whether it was lower or upper-division as "required."

Both of them said it isn't a really big deal so I wouldn't worry about it too much! Hope this helps.
