How often do you end up actually working while on call? How often do you have to go in to operate?

Not too often you actually have to come in at night if you have someone taking first call, but There is no such thing as an average call. It depends entirely on how busy the place that you’re covering and what kind of help you have —PAs, residents, or nobody. A suburban level 2 is very different from an urban level 1.
