book to use to study for the verbal section of the PCAT?

do i need to know definitions of words or...?

should i begin studying the verbal a couple months ahead of time?

i'm ok with calc, physics, bio and chem but that verbal stuff (what do you like the author....) is just blah to me. i got an average score on the verbal on my SAT , i dunno why i always have trouble with the verbal section on things.

I'm still studying for the August PCAT, but if nothing else, get yourself some flash cards with vocab on them. Whenever you get some spare time, use those to study. A larger vocab can be a huge help.

^^^Not the only thing to consider, but one of them.

for verbal reasoning, study vocab

for reading comprehension, read difficult literature like the new york times, look up words you don't know, and be an active reader by summarizing each article up in 2-3 sentences

try to get your hands on as many practice passages/analogies/sentence completions that you can, do them, and check the solutions to see how they're done correctly
